About
Abdel Mandili is a Dutch-Amazigh film director and producer. He grew up between Amsterdam and an Amazigh Indigenous culture in the Atlas Mountains, where stories of land are carried through myth and ahidus (sung poetry). This upbringing shapes both the stories he tells and the way he tells them.

His films follow Indigenous communities facing displacement and the loss of their land. He uses cinéma vérité to capture that reality, and fictional elements to bring myth and spiritual presence to the screen, both of which have long helped Indigenous communities hold on to who they are in the midst of displacement. He founded among.earth, where he builds long-term collaborations with Indigenous filmmakers around the world. Through training and co-productions, he helps connect their work with the international film industry to reach a global audience.
